What you will do

• Perform torch and plasma cutting, fitting, tacking, and MIG welding of carbon steel in vee groove and full penetration bevel joints.
• Read weld data sheets, procedures, operation travelers, prints, and oral instructions to prepare and complete welding work.
• Set up fixtures and components using weld benches, turntables, lathes, and measuring tools.
• Inspect dimensions and weld quality, ensuring proper penetration and preventing burn-through, cracks, porosity, and excessive bead.
• Repair defective welds through grinding, cutting, material removal, and re-welding according to specifications.
• Move materials and completed parts, maintain tools and equipment, organize the work area, and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of welding experience.
• Qualification for 2G and 2F welding positions and the ability to pass a weld test.
• Ability to use measuring tapes, verniers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
• Ability to become certified to operate a forklift and use hoists for heavy parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• General computer skills.
