What you will do

• Operate TIG, MIG, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment and common shop tools.
• Fabricate miscellaneous welded assemblies and simple frame assemblies.
• Read and troubleshoot engineering drawings for complex fabrication work.
• Measure, cut, and prepare tubing, angle iron, channel iron, flat bar, and other stock materials.
• Use tape measures, framing squares, straight edges, calipers, laser levels, grinders, sanders, and hydraulic straightening equipment.
• Train Welder I and Welder II employees and maintain safe, clean work areas.

Requirements

• Advanced welding capability using TIG, MIG, and oxy-acetylene equipment.
• Advanced ability to interpret engineering drawings and troubleshoot drawing issues.
• Advanced ability to use measuring equipment, shop tools, and cutting equipment.
• Ability to fabricate complex welded miscellaneous assemblies and simple frames.
• Ability to follow departmental safety requirements and properly handle tools, equipment, and stock.
