Senior Metallurgist - Technology

Location: Tanner, Alabama, United States; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Provide technical services to internal and external customers in support of company and division goals.
• Disposition referred, non-conforming, and off-standard material, including RMRs and customer claims.
• Train and educate customers on relevant technical topics.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to peers, customers, and managers on key projects.
• Apply statistical methods to solve problems and design experiments.
• Use SPC, Six Sigma, and BPI tools to identify inefficiencies and improve processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Specialized knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, practices, and production equipment.
• Understanding of statistics, Six Sigma, BPI, and SPC applications.
• Ability to manage small projects, lead or support project teams, mentor colleagues, and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to access mill and manufacturing areas, travel, communicate technical risks, and deliver results on schedule.
