Supplier Engineer E4 (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; relocation eligible; up to 30% domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $116,000–$159,500 per year

What you will do

• Serve as the technical contact for machining, forging, sheet-metal, and contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Assess manufacturing processes, process controls, dimensional capabilities, tooling, materials, and supplier readiness.
• Lead supplier quality improvement plans targeting quality, delivery, capacity, cost, and operational risk.
• Drive supplier problem-solving using 8D, DMAIC, root cause corrective action, audits, and process evaluations.
• Support new product introductions through supplier qualification, readiness assessments, and risk mitigation.
• Lead cross-functional projects, analyze supplier performance metrics, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, materials science, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in supplier engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, or a related discipline.
• Experience with machining, forging, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, forging, assemblies, welding, fabrication, heat treatment, and precision components.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing process documentation.
• Strong project leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, medical device, or other high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience with forged components, contract manufacturers, build-to-print suppliers, and global supply chains.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, and quality management systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, PMP certification, or experience conducting supplier audits.
