Location: Onsite at World Headquarters in Easton, Pennsylvania, United States, with approximately 15% domestic or international travel. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will do
- Lead advanced failure analysis involving overload, fatigue, fracture, wear, and manufacturing defects.
- Investigate corrosion mechanisms affecting piping systems, including galvanic, pitting, MIC, erosion-corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
- Provide metallurgical support to manufacturing, quality, product engineering, suppliers, and global operations.
- Evaluate welding and joining processes, heat treatments, coatings, microstructures, phase transformations, and mechanical properties.
- Operate SEM, EDS, LIBS, optical microscopy, and other metallurgical laboratory equipment.
- Document technical findings, support corrective and preventive actions, improve laboratory methods, and mentor technicians and less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive metallurgical experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong experience with piping systems, metallic materials, corrosion, and failure analysis.
- Hands-on proficiency with metallography, mechanical testing, SEM, EDS, and LIBS.
- Familiarity with MIG and TIG welding processes and the ability to communicate technical findings through reports and presentations.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15%.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science.
- Experience with NACE/AMPP guidance and ASTM, AWWA, ISO, or AMPP/NACE standards.
- Experience supporting casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, coating, or welding operations.
- Previous experience mentoring or technically guiding others.
