Metallurgical Lab Technician

Location: Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite at the plant. First shift, Monday through Friday, plus weekends as scheduled.

What you will do

• Test iron samples for chemistry control and monitor results.
• Analyze samples for microstructure and perform strength tests on sample pieces.
• Test sand and core sand properties to support foundry process control.
• Alert production when chemistry, microstructure, or sand results are out of range.
• Work with production personnel and collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Machine Shop, Human Resources, and Accounting as needed.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, workplace cleanliness, and compliance with safety and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
• PC and systems knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with employees at all levels, customers, and external professionals.
• Availability for first-shift work Monday through Friday and scheduled weekends.
