Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, USA; in-person clinical instruction at an inpatient clinical setting

Compensation: $1,120–$7,245 per assignment

What you will do

• Mentor BSN students during inpatient clinical experiences and connect classroom and simulation learning with patient care.
• Plan clinical experiences, create assignments, and provide direct supervision and evaluation of students.
• Document student performance, provide feedback, support remediation, and review written coursework.
• Coordinate with clinical-site personnel on policies, procedures, expectations, and student or agency issues.
• Contribute to curriculum implementation, assessment activities, retention efforts, and program development.
• Serve as a professional role model and collaborate with administrators, staff, and faculty.

Requirements

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered Iowa RN nursing license required.
• Illinois RN license required to teach all courses; assignments are prioritized for currently licensed Illinois professors.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• At least two years of professional RN experience within the last five years in the relevant area of instruction.
• Teaching experience is not required; strong clinical nursing experience is encouraged.

Nice to have

• Clinical experience in Adult Health, Critical Care, Community Health, Fundamentals, Maternal Child, Mental Health, Pediatrics, or Capstone Final Practicum.

• Typically scheduled for three to four consecutive 12-hour shifts over one to two weeks per session.
• Additional dates may not be available, and clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session.
