Vocational Nursing Instructor (Per Diem Clinicals)

Location: Bakersfield, California, USA; campus-based position with weekend clinicals from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday

Compensation: USD 45.00–60.00 per hour (typical hiring range: USD 45.00–52.80 per hour)

What you will do

• Teach vocational nursing lecture content and clinical rotations across classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
• Mentor students and improve instructional quality through varied and innovative teaching methodologies.
• Use online activities to enhance interactive teaching and learning.
• Review and revise course syllabi and instructional guidelines.
• Maintain attendance, grades, skills check-off forms, student files, immunization records, and clinical requirement documentation.
• Submit program reports, participate in assigned committees, and maintain professional development and continuing education requirements.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in the state where teaching takes place.
• RN/BSN applicants: at least 3 years of bedside experience.
• LVN/Associate degree applicants: at least 6 years of bedside experience.
• Current knowledge and experience in nursing practice and clinical settings, with the ability to mentor students and work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a broad understanding of nursing sciences.
• Weekend availability is highly preferred; weekend clinicals run from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Nice to have

• Current immunizations.
• Basic Life Support certification or ACLS.
