Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Laurel, Maryland, United States. Telework may be possible for up to two days per week when tasking becomes available, but it is not guaranteed.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, and prototype compliance and business-processing analytics and tools.
• Automate compliance functions and improve existing automation methods.
• Investigate, integrate, and test machine-learning and AI algorithms and research proof-of-concepts.
• Build models and implement metrics and monitoring for tools, functions, and data flows.
• Document solutions and review technical documentation.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph applicable to the customer.
• 14–20 years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; four additional years of software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience with Python, Java, Scala, Linux, SQL, JSON, Lucene, JEXL, GM Learn, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with exploratory data analysis, Random Forest feature development, machine-learning model building and monitoring, Scikit-learn, Ghostmachine Map/Reduce, and Jupyter Notebooks.
• Experience with Agency compliance standards, policies, authorities, corporate systems, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Data science background and experience implementing machine-learning systems.
• Experience with AWS and Spark.
• Experience with Agentic AI, large language models, machine-learning feature development, and other machine-learning techniques.
