Principal Applications Engineer (SiPh)

What you will do

• Act as the technical expert for on-wafer semiconductor measurements and silicon photonics test applications.
• Translate customer requirements, technology roadmaps, and market trends into product requirements and development priorities.
• Lead technical definition, application validation, demonstrations, and experiments throughout the product life cycle.
• Develop application methodologies, best practices, technical documentation, training programs, workshops, and laboratory exercises.
• Support strategic customer engagements, technical evaluations, troubleshooting, and solution recommendations.
• Lead research and technology pathfinding initiatives, monitor competitive technologies, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, or a PhD without experience, or equivalent.
• Advanced expertise in semiconductor device characterization, optical test methodologies, and silicon photonics.
• Experience in applications engineering, field applications engineering, technical sales, or customer-facing technical support.
• Knowledge of wafer probing systems, automated test environments, semiconductor test methodologies, and advanced characterization.
• Experience with silicon photonics technologies including waveguides, optical transceivers, photodiodes, VCSELs, beam optics, and integrated photonic circuits.
• Master's degree or PhD in physics, optics, electrical engineering, materials science, photonics, or a related field is preferred; high-volume manufacturing and advanced packaging experience are also preferred.
