Geospatial Data Content Management Engineer – Senior (Python)

What you will do

• Develop automation strategies for secure geospatial data handling, validation, integrity checks, and distribution.
• Build tools and workflows for identifying, collecting, processing, and analyzing large GEOINT datasets.
• Develop API-based integrations and secure data exchange solutions between NGA and partner systems.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to improve geospatial analysis and data extraction accuracy.
• Maintain the legacy Python codebase while integrating security requirements and future source dissemination solutions.
• Collaborate with GEOINT content teams to implement automated quality assurance checks.

Requirements

• US citizenship, TS/SCI clearance, and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• 10 years of combined experience and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Advanced experience with ArcGIS Suite, enterprise geodatabases, geodatabase versioning, geospatial formats, and data transformation.
• Advanced Python proficiency, including pandas and matplotlib, secure coding, code review, PostgreSQL, Oracle, ETL, and secure data transfer.
• Experience developing and securing REST APIs with authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and OAuth.
• Experience with CI/CD security, infrastructure-as-code security, Docker, Kubernetes, Git security, secrets management, vulnerability management, and IC/GEOINT security requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s coursework in a relevant field.
• JavaScript security libraries and open-source geospatial technologies such as QGIS, OGR, GeoServer, and PostGIS.
• Web application security testing, penetration testing, zero-trust architecture, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• SOAR experience, Kubernetes hardening, and cloud security certifications.
