Senior Data Engineer (Constellation Services)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with three days per week in the Berlin office

Salary: €77,000–€96,300 gross per year in Germany

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers satellite data through a cloud-based platform for commercial, environmental, humanitarian, defense, and intelligence applications.

What you will do

• Design, build, own, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve enterprise ETL pipelines.
• Develop self-service data tooling, visualizations, and insights for monitoring and evaluating Constellation Services products.
• Build end-to-end data solutions covering architecture, ingestion, implementation, CI/CD, orchestration, QA, visualization, and communication.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Space Systems, Commercial, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define the CxS data roadmap.
• Provide mentorship, technical design feedback, and code reviews across the organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong experience designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures and accurate data solutions.
• Expertise building ETL pipelines with Python and SQL.
• Experience with modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, dbt, and Looker, Omni, Sigma, or similar.
• Experience with peer-reviewed code, CI/CD workflows, GitLab CI, Docker, and cloud architectures such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
• Experience with geospatial datasets, event-based data architectures, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging services and real-time streaming.
• Experience with Datadog, Grafana, or equivalent monitoring and observability tools.
• Knowledge of Earth observation and satellite operations.
