What you will do
- Process, review, and qualify hydrographic and topographic survey data in a GIS environment.
- Produce and quality-assure deconflicted bathymetric products.
- Maintain and improve bathymetry models as new data sources and workflows are introduced.
- Standardize, optimize, and improve documentation for the National Bathymetric Source program.
- Create, automate, and optimize workflows related to hydrography, physics, and geodesy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hydrography, ocean mapping, physical science, marine science, oceanography, physics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of relevant knowledge and experience.
- Experience with data analysis, GIS, and data management techniques.
- Application experience with Python, PostgreSQL, QGIS, ArcGIS, and/or CARIS.
- Programming experience in Python and knowledge of ocean and coastal geospatial data.
- Experience developing mapping standards, improving data access, and integrating geospatial data products.
