TL;DR

Location: San Francisco, California; hybrid work required from the San Francisco office three days per week

Salary: $90,200–$112,700 USD per year for San Francisco-based hires

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and provides satellite imagery and data through a cloud-based platform for commercial, environmental, and humanitarian applications.

What you will do

  • Find and communicate stories that showcase novel applications of satellite imagery and hirify.global products.
  • Combine hirify.global imagery with complementary datasets to create compelling visualizations and graphics.
  • Collaborate with Marketing colleagues to develop customer-facing educational content.
  • Provide technical scoping and feedback for animations, videos, datasheets, and presentation decks.
  • Prepare and share accurate imagery with press, think tanks, and analysts under tight deadlines.
  • Promote data visualization best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in relevant technical roles, preferably involving geospatial or remote sensing data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience manipulating vector and raster data with QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, Avenza Geographic Imager, Avenza MAPublisher, or similar tools.
  • Experience programming with Python to analyze geospatial data and interact with APIs.
  • Knowledge of remote sensing use cases, cartographic principles, and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator, plus the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the space or Earth observation industry.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, React, D3, NextJS, Svelte, or other modern programming frameworks.
  • Experience visualizing hyperspectral data, creating video or animation, or developing web maps and interactive web stories.
