Senior Compensation Specialist

Location: New York, NY, United States; hybrid work arrangement.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide compensation advisory support to HR Business Partners and business leaders on pay decisions, internal equity, and competitive positioning.
• Design, implement, and maintain compensation programs, policies, and practices with the Head of Compensation.
• Lead benchmarking using McLagan and other survey sources, translating market data into recommendations.
• Support job architecture, job evaluation, job leveling, and job family documentation.
• Partner with People Analytics to define analytical needs, interpret outputs, and support compensation and workforce decisions.
• Manage annual compensation cycle deliverables, communications, change management, ad hoc analysis, and AI-enabled workflow improvements.

Requirements

• 7–15 years of progressive compensation experience, including advisory support to business leaders.
• Experience with compensation benchmarking and survey tools; McLagan experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting or leading job architecture and job leveling initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, judgment, organizational, and confidentiality skills.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge; experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. A bachelor’s degree is required.

Nice to have

• Financial services experience.
• Programming experience with SQL, Python, or R.
• Familiarity with AI tools and agentic workflows, including configuring assistants and evaluating outputs.
• Advanced degree or professional certification.
