TL;DR
Solutions Architect (Satellite Communications): Designing mission-critical hybrid NTN architectures that connect defense devices and tactical networks through Skylo’s direct-to-device satellite platform with an accent on 3GPP NTN, SATCOM, cellular edge integration, and security architecture. Focus on translating government mission requirements into engineering roadmaps, leading technical capture and customer engagements, and building resilient communications for denied environments.

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $145,000–$155,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

Company

hirify.global develops standards-based direct-to-device satellite connectivity, bridging terrestrial and satellite networks through a cloud-native commercial NTN vRAN platform. hirify.global Government Systems adapts this technology for defense, national security, intelligence, special operations, and allied international missions.

What you will do

  • Act as the technical bridge between government business development and P&L leadership and RAN, core network, and hardware engineering teams.
  • Translate mission-level requirements into end-to-end system architectures and engineering product backlogs.
  • Design resilient networks combining 3GPP NTN standards, NB-IoT, 5G NR, GEO/MEO/LEO satellites, legacy defense networks, and tactical cellular edge nodes.
  • Create communications solutions for tactical, covert, LPI/LPD, denied-environment, and expeditionary operations.
  • Lead the technical narrative for government proposals, RFI/RFP responses, prototype demonstrations, and field trials.
  • Advise on integrating hirify.global-enabled modems, smartphones, tactical wearables, and autonomous uncrewed systems into mission platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of communications theory, DSP, RF link budgets, wave propagation, mobile devices, chipset integration, cellular protocol stacks, and 3GPP 4G/5G and gNodeB/vRAN architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of SATCOM architectures, GEO/LEO systems, MSS bands, and satellite payload capabilities.
  • Experience with national security missions, tactical communications such as C5ISR, MANET, and tactical radios, and covert or expeditionary operations.
  • Understanding of hybrid networking, government cybersecurity frameworks, CSfC, payload encryption, VPN and overlay protocols, and modern security architectures.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; continued employment depends on maintaining clearance eligibility.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with 3GPP Release 17/18 NTN standards, including NB-NTN and NR-NTN.
  • Experience with JADC2, USSOCOM acquisition programs, or space communications modernization.
  • Hands-on experience with military field trials, tactical RF measurements, or quick-reaction capability prototyping.

Culture & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with stock option-based equity.
  • Medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid time off, and holidays.
  • Monthly wellness and education reimbursement allowances.
  • Flexible culture with the opportunity to temporarily work abroad.
  • Access to a multidisciplinary team spanning software, hardware, chipsets, telecom, satellite, and network virtualization.
  • Inclusive culture combining Silicon Valley, Nordic, and South Asia characteristics.
