Software Engineer - Backend (Java)

What you will do

• Design and develop Java-based backend services using Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Model data, design relational databases and ERDs, and work with Oracle RDS.
• Design RESTful APIs, implement request and response handling, and apply API security measures.
• Build unit and integration tests, maintain code quality, and use coverage tools such as JaCoCo.
• Automate build, testing, and deployment workflows with Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate across functions, support Agile delivery, maintain cloud infrastructure, and document technical solutions.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems development.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle RDS, RESTful APIs, Tomcat, Linux, and shell scripting.
• Experience with JUnit or other testing frameworks, Swagger, AWS, automated deployment, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Lambda and other serverless technologies.
• Experience designing scalable and maintainable microservices architectures.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, or Step Functions.
• Experience with Node or Python backend frameworks.
