What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement core application features for the CQIS platform.
• Lead tasking sessions, provide high-level design and estimates for SOW and innovation projects.
• Analyze and resolve complex escalated issues, identifying risks and implementing robust solutions.
• Build interoperable, performant, and maintainable backend services and APIs (RESTful and FHIR-based).
• Lead distributed dQM processing, CQL execution, validation, and clinical reasoning workflows.
• Mentor and coach associate-level developers while establishing and maintaining high coding standards.

Requirements

• Location: Remote work from the United States
• 10+ years in the software development lifecycle, ideally in healthcare technology; 4+ years in senior or staff-level development roles.
• Strong unit and functional testing practices and experience delivering end-to-end features.
• Backend expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience with APIs (preferably RESTful and FHIR-based) and healthcare data standards (HL7/FHIR preferred).
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT, streaming such as Kafka) and cloud/container tooling (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes EKS, Docker, Helm).

Nice to have

• Exposure to Digital Quality Measures (dQM), Clinical Quality Language (CQL), and terminology standards (SNOMED, LOINC).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
