Salary: $140,000–$220,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable Java and Kotlin software for backup products running across millions of endpoints.
• Debug and profile production services, analyze structured logs, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas, indexes, queries, and storage strategies.
• Develop client-server and event-driven systems using message brokers and distributed services.
• Review code, document architecture and operational procedures, and contribute to technical decisions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with backend, infrastructure, product, and support stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Java software development experience in product applications or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of designing and operating highly scalable software systems.
• Deep knowledge of object-oriented design, scalable data structures, REST services, and API best practices.
• Experience with relational database design and optimization, client-server development, event-driven architectures, and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or SNS.
• Strong Linux, scripting, debugging, testing, Docker, and Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Must be located in the USA and reside in one of the listed states; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
