Sr. Director of Global New Product Development (Power Grid)

Salary: $131,918–$178,957 annually, plus eligibility for the Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.

What you will do

• Set the global New Product Development strategy, objectives, budget, roadmap, and capital allocation priorities.
• Lead end-to-end technical product development from concept through launch and post-launch monitoring.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical and electromechanical design, product quality, development plans, testing, documentation, and manufacturing readiness.
• Advance simulation, rapid prototyping, materials, technology, and design methods to shorten development timelines and improve product quality.
• Lead the global product development engineering network, allocate resources, and manage supplier and partner relationships.
• Recruit, coach, develop, and evaluate engineering managers and teams across global NPD functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years of engineering experience in a product development environment and 5+ years of people-management experience managing managers.
• Expertise in electrical/electromechanical design, power electronics, and systems integration.
• Experience leading global NPD teams through complex technical development projects.
• Strong program execution, stakeholder management, communication, organization, facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in DFSS and Lean tools, including DOE, Capability & Control, FMEA, MSE, and DFM; experience with ECNs, BOMs, and PLM systems.

Nice to have

• Power industry experience with medium- or high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification or a Lean Engineering background.
• Experience leading multiple teams across global locations.
• Ability to translate technology and market trends into technology and product roadmaps.
