Software Development Consultant (Azure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bloomington, Illinois, United States

Base pay range: $113,200–$155,650 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support application-centric, API-led integrations using Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps.
• Build, publish, and manage APIs with Azure API Management, including policies, products, versioning, and security.
• Implement synchronous and asynchronous integrations using HTTP, REST, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Collaborate with BAW, Informatica, MuleSoft, Integration CoE, Enterprise Architecture, and Security teams on hybrid integration solutions.
• Establish Azure-native integration patterns, standards, and best practices to support cloud migration and modernization.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
• At least 5 years of enterprise integration or middleware development experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services, including Azure Functions, Durable Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management.
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and service-based integrations, with knowledge of OAuth2, managed identities, certificates, private endpoints, and service endpoints.
• Experience with JSON, XML, data transformation, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hubs.
• Experience in medium-to-large enterprise environments and familiarity with Bicep, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, or Dynatrace.

• Experience modernizing or migrating integrations to Azure-native platforms.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Experience in insurance or financial services environments.
• Familiarity with OWASP, NIST, and CIS secure coding standards.
