Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Johnson City, Tennessee, United States

Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually

What you will do

• Support production lines, vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
• Develop and oversee manufacturing processes with domestic and international teams.
• Review drawings, tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layouts, quotes, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and recommend improvements for manufacturability.
• Prepare operational performance, schedule, spending, and capital-expenditure reports for leadership.
• Support technical exchanges with suppliers and hirify.global and cross-train across manufacturing areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant manufacturing experience; alternatively, an associate degree with three years of related manufacturing experience.
• Related military experience may be considered.
• Experience communicating with customers, coworkers, suppliers, and other business functions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Ability to maintain confidential information and collaborate with diverse teams and international clients.
• Willingness to travel within the United States and comply with ITAR, AS9100, and other applicable regulations.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing-environment experience.
• Fiber optics experience.
• Knowledge of lean principles and Six Sigma.
• Electromechanical or magnetic systems experience.
• Clean-room familiarity.
