Business Process Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze, evaluate, and improve business processes to increase operational effectiveness, quality, compliance, and performance.
• Lead internal AS9100 audits and support customer, registrar, surveillance, and recertification audits.
• Manage NCR and CAPA activities, facilitate root-cause analysis, and drive sustainable corrective-action closure.
• Conduct gap analyses and lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process-variation management, and mistake-proofing.
• Define future-state operating solutions, process metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators.
• Develop procedures and training materials, mentor stakeholders, and support process governance and change management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline; Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years of related experience, preferably in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
• Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, structured problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 Rev. D and Quality Management System requirements.
• Understanding of ERP/MRP systems, Present Mode of Operation, and Future Mode of Operation concepts.
• Strong English communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority; travel may be required.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• ASQ CQE, CMQ/OE, Internal Auditor, or Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience leading Kaizen events and working in military, aerospace, or other highly regulated quality systems.
• Experience with customers and suppliers, process metrics, dashboards, and performance management systems.
