TL;DR
Process Technician - 1st Shift (Coating Manufacturing): Operating and troubleshooting coating-line production systems, vacuum equipment, power supplies, testing equipment, and process controls with an accent on optical coating quality, calibration, and yield management. Focus on diagnosing equipment and quality issues, maintaining detailed process records, supporting root cause analysis, and implementing continuous improvements on the first shift.

Location: Faribault, Minnesota, United States; onsite, 1st shift Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Salary: Starting from $22.50 per hour

hirify.global develops and manufactures metal, glass, acrylic, and high-performance coated materials for commercial buildings, picture framing, displays, architectural interiors, and industrial applications. The role supports Tru Vue within the Performance Surfaces segment.

What you will do

  • Operate coating-line systems, including gas, power supply, drive, vent, pumping, and vacuum systems.
  • Conduct tune-in and design control for optical coatings and prepare samples for experiments and long-term environmental testing.
  • Operate testing equipment, check calibrations, troubleshoot instruments, and perform work on vacuum gauges, turbo pumps, cathodes, power supplies, and leak-checking equipment.
  • Monitor yields, investigate defects, and collaborate with Process Technicians, Quality Assurance Technicians, supervisors, and production staff.
  • Maintain organized process and quality records, document procedures, audit work instructions, and train and certify team members.
  • Participate in maintenance, root cause analysis, problem-solving meetings, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical field is desirable.
  • Two years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to use analytical equipment and computers, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and electronic quality records.
  • Familiarity with vacuum-system operation and control; process-control experience is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, organization, and commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, work in a team, cross-train, and positively coach and motivate colleagues.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality systems.
