Quality Engineer IV (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States. Applicants must qualify as U.S. persons under ITAR export-control requirements.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Ensure production quality through Business Management System activities covering quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and compliance.
• Coach and guide Quality Engineers I–III on RCCA, MRB decisions, contract review, configuration control, customer deliverables, and purchase-order flow-down requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement projects with quality, assembly, and inspection personnel.
• Maintain quality KPIs and metrics, establish accountability, and develop return-to-green plans.
• Coordinate major customer visits and collaborate with department leads on cross-functional processes.
• Conduct employee meetings and performance reviews for Quality Engineers I–III while performing Quality Engineering activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
• 8+ years of Quality Engineering experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Understanding of aerospace manufacturing, technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and industry standards including ISO, ASME, MIL-STD, and MS.
• Thorough knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System requirements and configuration management principles.
• Experience with quality tools such as Cause Mapping, Fishbone analysis, PFMEA, Six Sigma, and SPC.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, coaching, and project-management skills; ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Nice to have

• ASQ CQE or CMQOE certification.
• Green Belt certification.
• Familiarity with SAP.
• Experience with Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, or DCMA customers.
