What you will do

• Source and purchase COTS and custom components, materials, and hardware based on engineering and program requirements.
• Evaluate, select, and qualify suppliers by reviewing capabilities, capacity, manufacturing processes, lead times, quality, and expertise.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, BOMs, and other technical documentation to define purchasing requirements.
• Request and evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing and delivery schedules, and issue accurate purchase orders.
• Track purchase orders through inventory receipt and proactively resolve shortages, delays, discrepancies, quality issues, and supplier risks.
• Manage RMAs through supplier disposition, replacement or repair, final receipt, and closure while reporting purchasing KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain, including purchasing COTS and custom/non-COTS components.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, BOMs, and related technical documentation.
• Strong computer literacy, analytical ability, organization, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with suppliers, accounting, finance, engineering, production, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Strong Costpoint ERP and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning logic.
• Experience with Jira and Vault.
