Senior, Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Full-time onsite role at the Sunnyvale, California office; not eligible for remote work.

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 annually, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Design and develop highly scalable catalog services for millions of customers.
• Solve complex software and distributed-systems problems using modern technologies.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues, engage support teams, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate across teams in an agile environment on medium- to large-scale projects.
• Track GenAI trends and contribute to innovative catalog-platform solutions.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of software engineering experience, or at least 5 years of related experience; alternatively, a relevant bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience.
• Expert Java knowledge and experience building backend systems with Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux.
• Experience with microservices, internet-scale distributed technologies, multithreading, networking, caching, offline storage, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Solr, Kafka, Memcached, NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and Cassandra, and scalable data-model design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud solutions and CI/CD tools including Git, Maven, and Jenkins, plus strong computer science fundamentals.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
