Bindery Operator 2 (Machine Assistant) 1st Shift

Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin, United States. Full-time, on-site role on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Compensation: $17.50–$19.00 per hour, with possible overtime and shift differential.

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary and automatic bindery machines, including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binders, gluing machines, and mailing devices.
• Operate complex finishing equipment to process printed sheets into books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other completed products.
• Adjust and coordinate multiple machine stations and process functions.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain operating accuracy.
• Direct the production crew and monitor quality, output, and productivity.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and bindery specifications.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits when combining machines.
• Experience using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery equipment.
• Knowledge of complex bindery machines, including perfect binders, multi-station collators, and folding units.
• Knowledge of folding, collating, cutting, and finishing requirements for coated and uncoated paper stocks.
• Ability to set up and refine machines according to paper weight, color, machinability, and quality.
