Consulting Director - C&M - Mechanical Engineering

Location: Concord, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid working model with expected presence in the office or at a client site 4–5 days most weeks.

What you will do

• Lead technical and commercial delivery of complex, multidisciplinary programs, managing risk, quality, and client outcomes.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities, qualifying leads, and winning large multi-capability engagements.
• Set strategic direction for mechanical engineering across PA’s US Design, Engineering, and Science Studios.
• Lead advanced mechanical and electromechanical solutions from early ideation through implementation.
• Advise senior client leaders, shape strategy, and define solutions that improve business and technical performance.
• Coach consultants and engineers while serving as Concord Studio place-lead and supporting an inclusive local culture.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in product development and consulting.
• Deep mechanical engineering expertise and experience leading complex, multidisciplinary consulting engagements.
• Strong commercial leadership, business development, account management, and client-facing experience.
• Experience with electromechanical systems, user-centered design, and first-principles engineering across areas such as mechatronics, structures, dynamics, thermal and fluid systems, controls, acoustics, precision mechanisms, or DFM.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and engineering analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, and FEA.

• Demonstrated experience with ISO 9001.
• Portfolio or selected examples demonstrating impact and approach.
