Director Mechanical Design Engineering

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering teams developing server and rack-level systems from concept through production.
• Direct system architecture, design reviews, prototyping, validation, and implementation.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, firmware, power, networking, and manufacturing teams.
• Work with customers and suppliers to gather requirements and deliver tailored mechanical solutions.
• Balance cost, performance, quality, and schedule across multiple concurrent projects.
• Mentor engineering staff, support career development, and drive innovation in design, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical and structural design, focused on electro-mechanical systems.
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles in data center environments, thermal management, structural design, vibration control, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD tools including Pro-E/Creo and AutoCAD, plus FEA and thermal simulation tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, independent working, and progress-reporting skills.
