What you will do

  • Manage architecture, design, construction, renovation, addition, interior, and tenant fit-out projects through design, permitting, construction, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, budgets, schedules, cash-flow projections, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate design and consultant teams, Harvard Campus Services stakeholders, contractors, testing firms, commissioning authorities, and operations personnel.
  • Review design concepts and submittals, monitor construction progress and quality, and manage change proposals, punch lists, and closeout activities.
  • Lead or support contract and change-order negotiations, invoice reviews, value engineering, and budget control.
  • Coordinate permitting submissions, inspections, and compliance with applicable authorities, codes, and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of architectural, engineering, construction, or project management experience; architectural experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience with design and construction processes, architectural and construction contracts, project budgets, cash-flow projections, and schedules.
  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders, build consensus, present technical or design information, negotiate issues, and escalate risks clearly.
  • Familiarity with city, state, and federal processes, codes, and ordinances.
  • Harvard is unable to provide visa sponsorship; work location sponsorship requirements must be met before employment.

Nice to have

  • Registered Architect license or ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience with furniture selection and procurement.
  • Experience with high-performance sustainability standards, including the Living Building Challenge Core.
  • Experience designing and constructing buildings with exemplary sustainability performance.
