Cloud DevOps and AI Security Engineer (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Onsite role; remote work is not available.

Salary: USD 65,000–85,000 per year, excluding potential short-term or long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support the security and scalability of emerging AI infrastructure and AI-enabled development pipelines.
• Monitor logs, alerts, system activity, and pipeline outputs to identify, document, and escalate potential vulnerabilities.
• Provision, configure, and maintain AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Write and update Terraform, Serverless, or AWS CloudFormation templates under senior guidance.
• Help manage permissions, least-privilege access controls, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, support safe releases, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of AWS, cloud computing, networking, IAM, security groups, and web infrastructure.
• Basic understanding of least privilege, encryption, secrets management, logging, and secure configuration.
• Ability to review and document security findings and escalate potential risks.
• Basic scripting experience with Python or Bash.
• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, pull requests, branching strategies, and change tracking.
• Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• 0–2 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, cloud operations, cybersecurity, software engineering, web operations, or junior DevOps.
• Entry-level certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or CompTIA Security+.
• Coursework, internships, graduate research, capstone projects, or hands-on work involving cloud security, DevSecOps, secure software development, AI infrastructure, or responsible AI coding assistants.
