What you will do

  • Lead and develop the Metallurgy team while providing technical direction for large turbine-generator programs.
  • Support material selection, product development, manufacturing processes, supplier qualification, service engineering, and metallic-material life-cycle management.
  • Develop materials concepts, specifications, testing programs, and design improvements for manufacturing, repair, modernization, and new products.
  • Lead material investigations involving property analysis, failure analysis, root-cause analysis, fractography, and metallurgical evaluations.
  • Support manufacturing through technical consultation, product-deviation disposition, process reviews, continuous improvement, and supplier qualification.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, presentations, manuals, patent disclosures, and recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Engineering with a concentration in Metallurgy.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in metallurgy, materials engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in physical metallurgy, structural and stainless steels, large forgings, copper conductors, welding, brazing, corrosion, failure analysis, and non-destructive testing.
  • Strong experience with fractography, microstructural analysis, data analysis, and interpretation of material-performance and testing results.
  • Experience managing and developing intercultural teams, plus project management experience and training.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Willingness to travel up to approximately 20% and work overtime or off-shift hours when needed.
