Location: Hybrid role based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with required onsite work in the Cambridge office on assigned days each week. Additional campus meetings, spring reunions, and department retreats may require onsite attendance. Remote work must be performed from a Harvard-registered state.

hirify.global Central Administration supports the university's schools, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and surrounding communities through shared services and collaborative partnerships. Alumni Affairs and Development supports fundraising, alumni and volunteer engagement, advancement technology, events, communications, and related operations.

What you will do

  • Manage a cohort of development assistants, including hiring, onboarding, workload planning, scheduling, and access to required tools and processes.
  • Own the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting, feedback, formal evaluations, and coordination with frontline fundraising officers.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to address workload, training needs, job satisfaction, performance, and employee concerns.
  • Coordinate long-term and interim staffing assignments, balancing coverage and workload across fundraising teams.
  • Partner with Human Resources and senior leadership on performance concerns, employee relations, compensation topics, and policy interpretation.
  • Lead onboarding, training, cohort meetings, special projects, and process improvement initiatives for development assistants.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of related administrative experience.
  • Experience in project or relationship management.
  • Prior staff supervision experience, including coaching, feedback, and day-to-day workload management.
  • Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work onsite in Cambridge on assigned days and attend required campus events and retreats.
