Area Managing Director (Fundraising)

Location: Hybrid position based out of the territory office in Columbus, Ohio, covering Ohio and West Virginia. Travel throughout the area is required for 25–30% of the year, including occasional weekends and 4–5 visits to Memphis.

What you will do

• Serve as the second-in-command for the main area office and drive fundraising growth and fiscal performance.
• Lead, supervise, and develop people leaders and individual contributors across fundraising events and campaigns.
• Expand relationships with individual donors, corporations, and high-value volunteers, securing significant five- and six-figure gifts.
• Recruit, train, and collaborate with executive-level volunteers while managing multiple event committees and advisory councils.
• Develop donor proposals with the Prospect Development team and maintain effective donor lead management.
• Review performance and market trends, identify opportunities, and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in fundraising, development, leadership, team management, and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Progressive management experience involving supervision, budgeting, and organizational development.
• Expertise in general management, public relations, strategic planning, fundraising operations, and program budgets and forecasts.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
• Experience with high-wealth donor engagement, moves management, event committees, market analytics, and data-processing applications.
• Valid driver's license required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
