Texas Executive Director

Location: Remote-based in Texas; candidates must reside in Texas. Regular travel throughout Texas is required, including travel to Austin during the legislative session, with occasional national travel. The role may require some nights and weekends.

Salary: $155,000 annually, plus potential merit-based bonus and additional compensation tied to revenue targets.

What you will do

• Set the vision and execute strategies for long-term, measurable student outcomes across Texas.
• Develop teacher leadership, learning, advocacy, policy, and media engagement models with internal teams and local partners.
• Build coalitions and relationships with educators, policymakers, government stakeholders, community organizations, and businesses.
• Lead fundraising efforts with annual goals ranging from $350,000 to $2 million and steward a diverse donor network.
• Build, manage, train, and right-size the Texas staff model while supporting performance and professional development.
• Manage regional budgets, grant reporting, operational systems, and data-informed execution.

Requirements

• Experience setting and evaluating strategies against quantitative and qualitative goals.
• Strong systems leadership, strategic communication, coalition building, and advocacy capabilities.
• Ability to develop talent, manage individuals toward measurable outcomes, and provide coaching-first leadership.
• Ability to use data and platforms such as Martus and Salesforce to track progress and inform decisions.
• Understanding of financial information, including budgets, budget-to-actuals, and grant reports.
• Must reside in Texas and be willing to travel regularly within the state.
