Location: Sanford, North Carolina; onsite five days per week. Travel of 50–75% may be required during construction planning, supplier reviews, equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and production ramp-up. US domestic relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year.
Company
is developing a technology-enabled advanced manufacturing campus for compact track loaders and telehandlers, incorporating automation, robotics, digital production systems, and integrated logistics.
What you will do
- Lead EHS execution for the new manufacturing site from construction planning through startup and stable production.
- Set safety expectations for contractors, project teams, and site leaders, including orientations, access controls, work planning, inspections, hazard controls, and corrective actions.
- Build EHS programs, training, audits, reporting routines, risk-reduction processes, and emergency preparedness practices.
- Partner with construction, facilities, operations, engineering, maintenance, security, human resources, suppliers, contractors, and system integrators to identify and resolve risks.
- Support the safe implementation of automation, robotics, connected equipment, energy systems, utilities, and production processes.
- Lead environmental compliance programs covering waste, chemicals, air, water, stormwater, permitting, and sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, manufacturing, construction management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of EHS policies, legal requirements, risk assessment, hazard controls, compliance data, and manufacturing safety practices.
- Ability to lead EHS projects, launch activities, corrective actions, and readiness plans across cross-functional teams.
- Experience identifying hazards, investigating incidents, implementing controls, and tracking corrective actions.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Sanford, North Carolina five days per week and meet demanding project schedule requirements.
Nice to have
- EHS certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH, OSHA 30, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or a comparable credential.
- Experience with construction safety, contractor safety, facility startup, capital projects, commissioning, or major operational change.
- Experience improving EHS performance through practical processes and behavior-based safety.
