Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer (Aerospace)

Location: Middle River, Maryland, United States; onsite at hirify.global's Space Structures Complex. Multiple shift schedules are available.

Salary: $45–$55 USD per hour base pay range for Maryland.

hirify.global is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems, including the reusable Neutron launch vehicle.

What you will do

• Set up, program, and operate large CNC machines to produce carbon-fiber components for the Neutron rocket.
• Use Mastercam to create safe and efficient toolpaths and machine tooling materials for large composite molds and tools.
• Design and manufacture fixtures and tooling for component machining.
• Read drawings and CAD models, develop manufacturing processes, and provide manufacturability feedback to Engineering.
• Source and test tooling solutions, improve batch sizes, setups, and tool selection, and reduce non-conformances.
• Track calibration and maintenance for equipment and tooling.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 8+ years of CNC milling experience.
• Experience programming and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• Familiarity with Mastercam, in-depth knowledge of GD&T, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of machine operation, maintenance, and calibration.
• For work in U.S. offices, ITAR regulations require U.S. citizenship, lawful U.S. permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
• Ability to work onsite on a production floor, including extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing and with composite materials such as carbon fiber or fiberglass.
• Experience operating large 5-axis gantry machines, including CMS machines such as Poseidon or Ares.
• Experience with Fanuc controls, CAD design using NX or Mastercam, and manual G-code programming and diagnosis.
