R&D Machinist (CNC Machining)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States

Salary: Machinist I: $24.75–$30.25 per hour; Machinist II: $31.50–$38.50 per hour; Machinist III: $41.40–$50.60 per hour. Equity is also offered.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and live tooling lathes for development hardware and test fixtures.
• Monitor, replace, and reset cutting tools, and perform deburring as needed.
• Machine graphite, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys.
• Provide engineering feedback to improve component manufacturability.
• Complete work instructions and process documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand G-code, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends when needed for critical milestones.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience machining stainless steel, Inconel, other exotic alloys, or graphite.
• Experience operating Fanuc CNC controllers and modifying G-code during production.
• Experience in an R&D machining environment.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, NQA1, or a similar quality system.
• Ability to adjust priorities in response to changing schedule demands.
