Project Manager II (Environmental Testing)

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday dayshift, with overtime as needed.

Salary: Starting at $62,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Coordinate client projects across laboratory setup, sample receipt, reporting, invoicing, and account maintenance.
• Review project documentation, contracts, purchase orders, permits, QAPPs, LIMS records, compound lists, and reporting requirements.
• Manage client communications, resolve login, sample, data, invoicing, and delivery issues, and provide project updates.
• Coordinate laboratory capacity, work-share facilities, subcontract laboratories, bottle orders, courier services, and field sampling.
• Review and issue reports, data packages, EDDs, state reporting forms, DMRs, invoices, and credit/debit memos.
• Prepare and manage quotes and proposals while coordinating technical, quality, certification, and contract reviews.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• BS/BA in Chemistry or another science; six years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least five years of client relationship, customer service, or project management experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory methods, environmental regulations, QA programs, contract compliance, and LIMS.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, problem-solving, leadership, and client service skills.

Nice to have

• At least one year of bench chemist or field experience.
• Experience with environmental testing programs, state and national requirements, and laboratory quality systems.
