Project Management Specialist I (Life Sciences)

Location: Portage, Michigan, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.

What you will do

• Manage the successful delivery of assigned scientific projects for key client accounts.
• Act as the primary communication link between clients and laboratory operations.
• Plan, organize, monitor, and control study activities against awarded work packages.
• Track timelines, financial objectives, FTE utilization, purchase orders, invoices, and project quality.
• Maintain project tracking tools, action items, communication records, protocols, meeting materials, and client deliverables.
• Facilitate client visits and audits, present at client meetings, and support sales and opportunity onboarding.

Requirements

• Prior project management or customer service experience in a scientific field.
• Minimum 3 years of project management or scientific-field customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry is relevant.
• Excellent oral and written communication, strong organization, and attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Excel, or similar project organization tools.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Business minor or MBA.
