Controller (Aerospace & Defense)

What you will do

• Lead general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, payroll accounting, fixed assets, leases, and controlled balance-sheet accounts.
• Own the monthly close, including journal-entry review, reconciliations, balance-sheet reviews, and timely financial reporting.
• Provide guidance on revenue recognition, reserves, accruals, capitalization, intercompany activity, and other US GAAP matters.
• Maintain accounting controls, policies, procedures, and audit support, including PBC coordination and issue resolution.
• Support acquisition due diligence and lead post-close accounting integration, including chart-of-accounts mapping, policy harmonization, controls, reporting, and purchase accounting.
• Develop the accounting team, strengthen operating discipline, and drive measurable continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; a Finance degree is acceptable with strong accounting experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading accounting operations and month-end close in a manufacturing or project-based environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, core accounting processes, and accounting systems.
• Strong Excel, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
• CPA and/or CMA certification is preferred; ERP implementation or finance-systems improvement experience is also preferred.
