Controller Consultant (Accounting)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; workplace arrangements may be hybrid, remote, or onsite.

What you will do

• Partner with Finance Directors and business leaders to support financial objectives and business strategy.
• Manage month-end accounting close and deliver accurate, timely results in accordance with US GAAP.
• Review internal financial data to identify issues, opportunities, and trends supporting leadership decisions.
• Install and maintain control environments that limit business risk and exposure.
• Lead change initiatives through coaching, training, and clear objective setting.
• Assist clients with challenging projects and effective financial processes and controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 10-plus years of professional experience in public accounting, related consulting, and/or industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis.
• Experience working with large ERP systems and advanced technical skills.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build relationships and foster trust at all organizational levels.

Nice to have

• CPA, CMA, or CFE certification.
• CIA certification.
• SEC reporting experience.
