Senior Accountant

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or remote within the United States

Salary: $113K–$141K annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Own assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review U.S. and Canadian payrolls and manage related accounting for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and payroll liabilities.
• Manage accounting for cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, operating expenses, intercompany activity, and general ledger accounts.
• Own accounts payable and spend management, including Ramp administration, vendor onboarding, expense classification, approvals, 1099 support, and controls.
• Support financial statement and 401(k) audits, tax compliance, and audit-ready documentation.
• Improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and process scalability through automation and systems integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on ownership of month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement and general ledger analysis.
• Experience with journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, rollforwards, and accounting schedules.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including large datasets, lookup and aggregation formulas, and supporting schedules.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, software, venture-backed, or high-growth technology companies.
• Experience with payroll and benefits accounting, accounts payable, spend management, audits, or multi-entity environments.
• Experience with modern ERP, expense-management, and payroll systems such as Rillet, Ramp, or Rippling.
• Experience developing internal controls, documenting accounting processes, or using AI-enabled automation and systems integrations.
