Senior Revenue Accountant (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close activities under ASC 606.
• Evaluate new contracts, modifications, change orders, amendments, performance obligations, transaction prices, and variable consideration.
• Account for government and commercial contract structures, including fixed-price, cost-plus, time-and-materials, cost-reimbursable, IDIQ, and milestone-based arrangements.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, revenue schedules, technical accounting memoranda, and ASC 606 disclosures.
• Partner with Contracts, Legal, Business Development, Program Management, FP&A, and Controllership on contract reviews and revenue outcomes.
• Maintain SOX-compliant revenue controls and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• 8 years of progressive revenue accounting experience with a B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance, or 6 years with a relevant M.S./M.A.
• CPA required.
• Advanced expertise in ASC 606, ASC 340, U.S. GAAP, contract assets and liabilities, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables.
• Experience with government contracting regulations, including FAR and DFARS, project accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, SOX compliance, and technical accounting research.
• Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Acumatica, or Microsoft Dynamics.
