What you will do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Lead accounting policy, U.S. GAAP compliance, external audits, and relationships with auditors and advisors.
• Build scalable accounting processes, controls, reporting, systems architecture, chart of accounts, cost centers, project accounting, procurement, and payroll infrastructure.
• Establish accounting for complex areas including compute and infrastructure commitments, training cost allocations, revenue, equity, stock-based compensation, leases, and multi-entity operations.
• Partner with FP&A and leadership on forecasts, budgets, financings, investor reporting, board reporting, diligence, and strategic transactions.
• Build and lead the accounting organization and develop the control environment for future public-company readiness, including annual 409A valuations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility.
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader in a high-growth technology company.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, complex accounting judgments, audits, financial reporting, and controls.
• Ability to design accounting processes and systems from the ground up and work directly in operational details.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills across executives, investors, auditors, Finance, People, Legal, and Operations.
• CPA qualification.

Nice to have

• Big Four public accounting experience.
• Experience scaling finance at a venture-backed company or preparing a company for an IPO.
• Experience with SOX, ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, multi-entity and international accounting.
• Experience implementing or migrating ERP and financial systems.
• Experience with large infrastructure, cloud, compute, financings, M&A, or other strategic transactions.
