Senior Field Service Engineer (Cryogenic Systems)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States. Hybrid work across office and manufacturing environments, with extensive domestic travel and occasional international travel.

Salary: $60,600–$79,590 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance at customer sites.
• Install and commission cryogenic systems and complete final system acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex equipment issues remotely and on site.
• Lead technical escalations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain on product and process improvements.
• Maintain service documentation, develop procedures, and deliver technical training to customers, partners, and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of related experience, an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with cryogenic systems, cryocoolers, cryogenic refrigerators, cryostats, vacuum pumps, or vacuum systems.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, customer communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel extensively within the United States and occasionally internationally.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and lift equipment weighing 40–80 pounds; heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and controlled environments such as cleanrooms and laboratories.
