Assembly Test Implementation Engineer

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite 5 days per week during assembly operations. The role may involve alternating first- or second-shift assignments and occasional off-normal work hours.

Salary: $90,000–$145,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Prepare, execute, and close SPARC tokamak assembly test activities.
• Develop proficiency in specialized test methods and operate related equipment, including low-voltage, high-voltage, and high-stored-energy systems.
• Scout field assets, review test procedures, identify risks, and support pre-test walkdowns and mock-up testing.
• Provide engineering direction and troubleshoot issues during test preparation and execution.
• Validate preliminary test outcomes, communicate PASS/FAIL/UNCERTAIN results, and approve required test reports.
• Coordinate with technicians on test execution, equipment demobilization, lessons learned, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of equivalent engineering experience.
• Previous testing experience, including electrical testing involving high voltage.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam or Acrobat, and 3D modeling programs.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week when assembly operations are underway and to work occasional alternate shifts or off-normal hours.
• Ability to work around industrial hazards including high voltage, high current, pressure systems, cryogenics, strong magnets, lead, heat, cold, noise, and fumes; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform extended periods of standing, climbing, stooping, sitting, or typing.
