Managing Consultant - Public Services - Defence

Location: Utrecht, Netherlands. Hybrid working requires being in the office or on a client site a minimum of 2 days per week, with some assignments requiring up to 5 days per week on a client site. Applicants must have the full right to live and work in the Netherlands; work permit sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead defence consulting engagements from conception through implementation, including large-scale and complex projects.
• Provide strategic advice on defence policy, capability development, operational efficiency, and security threats.
• Analyze client requirements, challenges, and opportunities and develop tailored strategies, processes, and technology solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, develop existing accounts, and create new business opportunities.
• Develop commercially viable consulting offerings and propositions with Dutch and international PA teams.
• Mentor junior consultants and lead multidisciplinary consulting and client teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in the defence industry, preferably with a Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, or management consultancy firm.
• Proven experience leading consulting engagements and delivering impactful results.
• Strong knowledge of defence policy, strategy, operations, regulations, frameworks, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required; Dutch must be mastered at B1 level. Dutch nationality is required for national security vetting.
