Building Systems Technician (HVAC)

Location: On-site in Secaucus, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $72,800–$87,500 annually, plus potential bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Monitor critical power, environmental, and building management systems to identify issues and reduce equipment and operational downtime.
• Maintain uptime for HVAC, centrifugal chillers, generators, electrical distribution systems, and related building infrastructure.
• Take daily equipment readings, inspect facilities and grounds, identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Execute predictive, planned, and preventive maintenance; perform work directly when appropriate and supervise maintenance contractors and vendors.
• Manage spare-parts inventory and coordinate maintenance timing with facilities staff and manufacturing and test-facility stakeholders.
• Support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and systems, maintaining required chiller, cooling-tower, and generator certifications.

Requirements

• Trade-school certification in a technical field or equivalent practical experience with mechanical or HVAC systems and controls.
• Technical knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems; centrifugal chiller experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external resources.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take ownership of facility-system performance and uptime.
• Ability to climb and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.

Nice to have

• Experience in an industrial or fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Experience with centrifugal chillers and related facility systems.
